Internet Explorer freezes when viewing embedded PDFs

Hello,

 

I'm not sure if this is a new issue or an existing one that is ongoing, but we have a handful of users in our environment that experience an issue where Internet Explorer will freeze when launching an embedded PDF to view within the browser. It appears to be inconsistent and often times when the issue happens, the PDF appears like it will load but it will show the blue progress bar and become stuck on "Initializing". Has anyone encountered this before and if so, have you found a fix for the issue?

Acrobat Reader crashes after opening

Hi all,

There are many users in my company suddenly have this issue today, but not all the users.

Even a user who never installed Acrobat Reader before installs the latest one from Adobe official website, it will crash the same way.

But some other user who also never installed Acrobat Reader before and installed it today will be OK.

So it is really hard to differentiate the reason now. Same Windows 1809, but haven't tested if there is some KB difference.

It is such a broad issue now. But weirdly, not all, still many users in the same condition are good with the reader.

Could someone help?

automatic update requires system restart, pdfs in use cannot be saved. work lost.

it updates my reader automatically, which is great.

but then i am not able to save pdfs that i'm working with,

so all notes/comments are lost.

there is no warning of the update.

having a warning of, say, a few hours, would preserve work

and be fair to users.

does anyone have advice-workarounds-agreement-disagreement ?

i appreciate what adobe does to enable folks to read online links,

especially regarding congressional correspondence, but in "the heat

of battle" saving first sometimes doesn't happen, while notes and

cross-references get added - then lost - upon auto update.

appreciate assistance/acknowledgement.

Screen flash and loss of app focus

I've got a Director legacy application that opens PDFs. This used to work fine with Acrobat Reader but with the latest version of the reader when a PDF is opened as a maximised window the screen briefly flashes before the PDF opens (if opened as a 'normal' window the screen doesn't flash). When the PDF is closed the Director application no longer has focus and the user needs to click on it before mouse rollovers etc work again. I've used the Foxit reader and it works perfectly. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Reader active in Task manager, but not on screen

I've installed the latest version of Acrobat Reader, but after openening several documents its seems the reader starts a life of it's own...!

What happens:

- I click the Acrobat Readr icon onmy desktop (or Start menu);

- the cursor changes into the spinning blue circle;

- my screen does'nt change, Reader isn't shown.

 

When I open Task Manager I see two lines for Acrobat Reader and one for the update manager (@ background processes)

So the reader does start, but doesn't show itself.

 

This happened a few times. I tried a re-install of the reader twice, after re-install it works for a few times, and then all trouble starts again.

 

Any suggestions??

How do I turn off double-sided printing in Adobe?

How do I update a current formula in a document?

Hi,

 

I am trying to edit an existing document, one of the formulas does not sum up the entire section as it should and I want to make that adjustment.  The issue I am having is that when I open the file up in adobe acrobat, it says that I cannot adjust the file and have to do a save as.  The only problem is when I do a save as, it then doesn't allow me the option to save as a document that can be edited and saved.  The only option is to have a document that is form fillable but not savable.

 

Please let me know if there is a way I can edit and save so that others who download the form can also fill out the forms and save their progress.

Error converting PDF to Excel

Hi, I'm an Adobe Reader user. I'm converting the PDF file to Excel in Adobe Reader. However, the table row data comes as date. When converting a PDF file to Excel in Adobe Reader, I want all of the data to be translated as text. For example: In Excel = 02.13.01 I want to have text not date.

Cannot extract the embedded font 'T3Font_44'

I get variants of this message when looking at a PDF with Acrobat Reader.

 

I understand that this is related to difficulties with a Type 3 font.  Hence the T3Font part of the message.

 

Does the "44" part (which varies, sometimes its 15, or 37, or 135, or 148) have any meaning?

Is it for example, the object number of the object that is a problem?  or something useful?

Or is it just an internal effectively random number?

Can not I delete my own comments

Hey, this is not my native language and I'm using Google TransLight. Recently I have been trying to learn to use the free software to add comments to PDF, etc. I added, but when I tried to erase myself I added - I could not. Can not I delete my own comments?

全角スペースを含む文字列の検索について

Acrobat Reader DC にて、

ExcelからPDF保存した場合など文字埋め込みのPDFファイルにおいて、

「全角スペース」を含む文字列の検索を行いたいのですが、

「一致するものがありませんでした。」となります。

 

上記検索を使用するケース、目的は、以下のとおりです。

名簿データで名字と名前の間に全角スペースがある場合に、フルネームで検索したい。

 

例えば、「山田　太郎」の氏名に対しての検索結果は、以下のようになります。

「山田　太郎」検索不可

「山田」検索可

「太郎」検索可

「山田　」検索不可

 

設定等もいじってみましたが、うまくいきません。

 

そもそも不可能なのか、回避策があるのか、ご存じないでしょうか？

I've checked the forums and don't see this problem.

 

Using Reader DC 2017 Release.

 

Attempting to open a pdf file and getting an error message of  "You do not have permission to perform this operation."  The author of the file is also getting this error. 

 

File was created in June 2017.

 

I have used Notepad to confirm it is an actual PDF file.  The first line says, %PDF-1.6%âãÏÓ

 

Checked the metadata via windows explorer/properties.  Read/Write are both checked.

 

There is no prompting for password.

 

I've tried a Microsoft Office repair tool without success.

 

Any ideas how I may recover this file?

Is the ARM service useful in an enterprise?

Hello all.

 

On our network, updates for both µsoft and Adobe products are supervised by the Microsoft Patch Management infrastructure. When necessary, the Adobe catalog is imported in SCUP, in order to use the Patch Management for our workstations.

 

In such an environment, is the ARM service necessary, or can it be disabled by default on our workstations? (Adobe Reader DC and Flash player are the default products used)

 

Are the schedule tasks : "Adobe Acrobat Update Task", "Adobe Flash Player NPAPI Notifier" and "Adobe Flash Player Updater" necessary in our environment?

Hallo, ich habe ein Problem beim Drucken von Dateien über den Acrobat Reader. Jedes mal wenn ich auf den Drucken-Button klicke hängt sich das Programm auf und es kommt die Benachrichtigung keine Rückmeldung. Ich habe schon einiges versucht, das Programm neu installiert, aktualisiert und ähnliches...aber nichts. Kann mir jemand helfen?

Acrobat Reader takes forever to start on Windows 10

I don't know what exactly was changed in the latest update, but it's now taking a whopping 2 minutes to start the reader. That's way beyond acceptable.

I took the advice from another post and disabled your 'enhanced security' and 'start in protected mode'. And lo and behold: it suddenly starts without any noticeable delay.

 

I recommend you revisit your security settings. As is, they're unusable.

Received the "Error while creating message" while sending file as email attachment

I am using the feature "Send file as email attachment" but have received the "Error while creating message" error message.

 

I am using company email address, e.g. name@domainname.com (not yahoo / gmail) and have setup my email account correctly.

 

Please assist me on this issue. Is the error due to the "Send file as email attachment" only works for yahoo / gmail email account?
