Acrobat Reader

Hi all,

our form has been created with LC Designer. The field is a currency field. I edit the field with Reader Version 2017 and save the file. When I open the file again with the Reader Version 2017 the content disappears. When I open the same file with all other PDF Readers: Chrome, IE, etc. the content is still there, could be edited, and saved.

Only with the Adobe Reader it is not possible.

thanks

Karl

Adobe Reader Sign PKCS#11 CKM_RSA_PKCS

Hello guys,

I am developing a pkcs#11 library especially to sign a document using the CSC protocol. I loaded this library in Adobe as a PKCS#11 module.

I need Adobe to sign only THE hash, because the CSC protocol requires this, but, when signing, adobe calls C_SignInit with the sign mechanism set to CKM_RSA_PKCS, which is a PADDED hash. It does this despite that the library does not support this signing mechanism. (which btw, this info is send with C_GetMechanismList, which lists all the mechanisms available in the library).

The problem is that Adobe does not call C_GetMechanismList, nor C_GetMechanismInfo to verify the mechanisms supported by the library. Even if CKR_MECHANISM_INVALID is returned by C_SignInit when CKM_RSA_PKCS is specified, Adobe again try to call C_SignInit and then the process fails.

Is there a way to tell adobe to change the mechanism to another, let's say CKM_RSA_X_509? Or maybe to make it verify the mechanisms available?

Thank you,

Robert

64-bit adobe reader

Hi,

I am in need for a 64 bit version of adobe reader because the 32 bit version of adobe reader doesn't understand the response from outlook when an pdf has been sent via PDF reader with outlook.

It's a 64 bits office install, and acrobat reader only exists in 32 bit space. When outlook is done sending, outlook gives a good response, but adobe reader doesn't understand it and keeps waiting, freezing itself, and if save and send as pdf in word was used it also freezes word because it waits.

This is a real need, please compile as 64 bit. Don't repeat the 16bit vs 32bit fights we had in windows 95 and before, get with the times.

Can't fill in pdf form on tablet, yet i can fill in same form on laptop

I created a consent form on my laptop which requires client signatures for consent.  I cannot email them the form as sometimes they have communication difficulties and cannot read it themselves.  I saved the form I created as extended reader pdf (fill n sign).  It will open on my laptop but when I upload it to the creative cloud and then try to fill n sign it on my tablet, it says "Restricted Document.  Modifying the document  is not allowed because it is a read-only file".  However, I did not save this a read-only file and when I checked the security settings, they are open.  Can someone tell me what is going on with this particular form?  I have tried creating it a few times but the same result always occurs.  I can open  other pdf documents on my tablet that I created - but never this one.

Have a Win10 system with Adobe Reader DC version 2019.010.200998. Signed into Adobe account and Adobe Export PDF does not show. It tells me my current plan is Adobe Export PDF but nothing more. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing helps.. Works fine on the cloud but I also would like to be able to do this on the local desktop version. I see others have been having same issue..

The Document could not be printed. There are no pages selected to print.

Running macOS Mojave 10.14.3.  Installed Acrobat Reader DC 2019.010.20098 and I can not print any PDFs.  I have read the old posts that say to: print as image, open in another application (pages does not like PDF, Google Docs does, but I get the same error when trying to print anything from Google Docs), and I have changed the enhanced security settings in both Adobe Preferences and on my iMac.  Any help would be appreciated.

Default for "Who needs to fill and sign first?"

Seems like a new update to the reader now has a new window when clicking the "fill and sign".

As shown on this help page (which was last updated May 14), when clicking the fill- and sign button, the reader will prompt you "Who needs to fill and sign first?" with two option to choose from "Me" and "Others" (see photo below)

As the majority of the forms I "fill and sign" requires only the "me" option, I want to set it as the default option and, when/if I need to change it, I should be able to select it...

Any help on this?

Adobe Reader DC - Slow Launch

Hi,

We are having trouble with Adobe Reader DC.  It is taking a very long time to open (2minutes) for a large section of our computers.  We are running Windows 10 with the latest Reader version.  I have tried turning off Protected Mode (as described is several forum posts) and that does fix the issue but should obviously not be left off.  Deleting the temp files only fixes it until the next launch.  I am hoping to get help solving this issue or news about long term fixes for it. Thanks.

Find in document (CTRL+F) - old behaviour

$

Hello,

with last update, "find function" has changed;

previously, when the user pressed "CTRL + F", the text in the "Find" dialog was selected;in this way, it was sufficient to write and press "next" (Enter) to search for the text in the document.

with the new version, if a text is already present in the "Find" dialog, the text is no longer selected but the cursor is positioned at the end of the text;to carry out a new search it is therefore necessary to delete what is already present, insert the new text and press "next" (Enter).

Is not possible to keep the old behavior (from my point of view much more useful in case of numerous searches in the document)?

Thank you

ArialMT font issue in Reader DC but not Pro.

Hello,

I'm having an issue with random PDF's in Adobe Reader DC (not generated by me), where I will receive a message about ArialMT font cannot be found or created. Colleagues that are also on Adobe Reader DC do NOT receive this message with the same PDF's.

We have uninstalled and re-installed Reader using the Adobe removal tool, didn't make a difference.

We have installed the ArialMT font, no change.

We reinstalled Windows 10 x64 along with Reader, and still the same issue.

As a troubleshooting step, we signed up for the trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the issue no longer occurs.

I do not need the features of Pro, I only need to be able to view and save PDF's, so Reader will work fine. Adobe Support has stated that they cannot assist to determine why Acrobat Pro works fine, but Reader DC will not.

I have tried pretty much every solution that forums have to offer, but none work.

The solution should not be having to pay $16/month for Pro.

Please advise.

Hi, I noticed with update every time I close a PDF file I'm looking at it keeps open this page with showing 'home' , 'tools' at the top and a list of all the previously opened PDF files etc.  Any way to NOT have that page always remain open.  Getting annoying having to close it every time I don't looking at a PDF. Page showing below after closing any PDF file.  Thanks.

Adobe Reader DC still creates folder "blob_storage"

Can anyone help within this

I am using Reader DC 2019.012.20035 and the folder blob_storage will be created on network drives (when usnig newer pdf-files and open pdf directly from network folder - not from the list of recently used pdf-files inside ReaderDC).

I 've found two other discussions but noone from the adobe staff seems to handle this:

Re: Adobe Reader DC Creates blob_storage folder

and even

Re: When you open the PDF, a folder called "blob_storage" is generated without permission

  • Add to Phrasebook
    • No word lists for English -> German...
    • Create a new word list...

Difference between features of reader on mac and iPad

Hi,

I have a few q about the Acrobat reader (AR) on iOS. Firstly, when I open a pdf file from iCloud from my Mac it opens in AR, but that's not the case from my iPad. I'm wondering if this is Apple's choice and if can be changed? Secondly, related to the previous q, when I open same pdf file from my Mac and iPad, it seems to save the file in 2 different files instead of to keep the changes I make in the same file and save them there. The point is that I often change devices, but not my work. Additionally, seems that links in the pdf files I can easily open by click or CMD+click, whereas this is not an option when I try to open the same link on my iPad. Namely, when I tap on the link, it just doesn't do anything. Finally, highlighting text. When I use Mac I can use only one color, while the same option on iPad gives me the option of choice of colors. And one more connected to the latter. When I highlight a test, there is no more a chance I can select the same text if I want to copy it to paste. I might think of a few more things, but this is what I mainly get an issue with.

Thanx

Damian

Print multiple pages after increasing size of original document--how to?

I want to increase the size of an original document. It would necessarily take more than one page to print out a one page document that was enlarged, but I can only print the first page. How do I print out the rest of the pages?

Acrobat X Pro

I am attempting to open PDF files from a website with sample trademark documents. When I click one of the links, a window pops up stating "For the best experience, open this PDF Portfolio in Acrobat 9 or Acrobat Reader 9, or later." I spoke with an Adobe rep who pointed me to this forum since I have Acrobat X Pro. He said to ask for a key code so I can open the PDF files.

Can anyone assist with this?

Thank you in advance!

Best,

Richard
