This configuration leaves the Reader with the following configuration
Some users are having issue with this configuration so we have decided to let the users modify the settings.
But other issue appears.
How to reproduce:
Start adobe reader – settings – security (enhanced) uncheck “Enable Protected Mode at startup”
No problem so far, then force a GPupdate /force – this then activates the settings
Protected View: “Files from potentially unsafe locations” and keeps the “Enable Protected mode at startup “ un checked = this setting is a Unsupported configuration (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AppSec/protectedmode.html)
That situation will cause the error below. As soon a pdf file is launched from a potential unsafe location. (= any pdf file from the Internet)
I believe we should ensure that we cannot fall into a unsupported configuration =
When “Enable Protected Mode at startup” is unchecked – then Protected View: must be set on Off
This issue will only be experienced when a User is unchecking “Enable Protected Mode at startup” but once this is done and the next GPO Update appears these Users will have an error.
Any advice will be welcome.

I just grabbed the reader again....when i open chrome...it asks to enable the extension, which i do....then when i close out the browser and reopen...it asks it yet again. I went into extensions and checked the enable yet when i close it out and reopen a browser...there it is asking yet again.
Anyone able to tell me how to fix this?
Using Advanced Search in Reader DC, when you click an item in search results, the resulting display in Reader DC is blank until you zoom in.

I am trying to print a PDF so that the text of my comments in pop-ups is printed in a list. This is called "printing a comment summary." Instructions begin on p. 3 of the item which is at

I followed the directions, and, to be sure, the printed list includes text of the few comments I made on my test page.
BUT, the list ALSO INCLUDES fifteen items that are NOT comments. Each of these is preceded on the list with a "T," and is numbered (in the same list the comments are reported), followed by something like "Author Date 11/1/2017 5:41:02 PM - 05'00'"
On the page of actual text, there are lots of positioned little squares with numerals inside them, which, apparently, correspond to the numbered items in the list. There is no commonality that I can see among these items.
All I want is the list and text of the comments! If I printed them not in summary (list) form, they would overlap with text.
A colleague suggested that when the document was converted to PDF from Word Perfect (would have happened as well if I had begun in MS Word), it is likely that certain codes did not transfer. The little squares on the text with numbers in them, which are subsequently listed in the comment summary, likely mark where that has happened.
Is there a way in Reader 10 to accomplish what I want to accomplish?
About 4 weeks ago, these messages appear whenever I open a pdf file attachment from email, or a pdf file from harddrive or google drive. These messages then do not allow print file or other usual functions. How do I eliminate the messages? Why did they start out of the blue?

I have done the basic troubleshooting steps. Full uninstall and reinstall of both applications (I used the Adobe uninstaller that removes everything). The computer meets the system requirements,Its brand new, Windows 10, 8G RAM, Intel I7. I contacted the Application rep and they were extremely useless. I am wondering if someone her can point me in the right direction... Plz Haaaaalp
Our company website has several product catalogs in PDF format. When a user clicks on the file to open it, the file begins to download then IE hangs indefinitely. This is a problem for our customers. The files seem to open fine for some users and will open fine in other browsers (such as Chrome).
Is there any way to determine what is causing these files to hang?
I have a website that can let users highlight pages in the site, but I can't figure out a way to have them highlight phrases in PDFs. It would be nice if I could us Javascript (or some other method) to:
1. detect when they highlight a phrase
2. capture the text of that phrase.
3. At some point, if necessary, have the website find the phrase again, and perhaps even highlight it via Javascript
Just having that functionality opens up PDFs to a whole new type of use.
Does Adobe have any kind of addin that will allow this? If not Adobe, has someone else written one?

I am having an issue where a user is unable to use the feature in Adobe DC( Fille/send file/ attach to email). When we go through this it brings up a "new email" window where we can "send" the email, but once sent it locks up Outlook which causes it to never send. I have to kill it through task manager.
I have repaired reader, made a new outlook profile and disabled attachment preview in trust center for Outlook(none have worked). Does anyone have any suggestions?
The current workaround is to save as to somewhere else such as the desktop and then to attach to an email manually, but of course the user isn't happy with this so I am reaching out.

I'm trying to open a PDF file from the web on my iMac desktop and I get this message: Your PDF Viewer may not be able to display this type of document. I have the PDF Reader Pro Free. What do I need to do?
I signed up for the basis acrobat reader conversion program, however it will not let me convert PDF to Word. I have looked at the troubleshooting tips and the how to tips but after I sign in it just says this is not supported and directs me back to sign up for the conversion program. I would much rather talk to someone but I can't seem to find a number to call or the option for a chat. I have a PC. Any help would be appreciated.
I created an administrative installation point and patched it to version 15.6.3055 and deployed it successfully.
When I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader 2015\Reader\AcroRd32.exe and look at Properties\Details\File Version shows 15.6.3055.240876 which is expected, but when I open Adobe Reader and go to Help\About Adobe Reader, it displays Version 2015.006.30033. It also displays 15.006.30033 in Programs and Features.
Adobe Reader Plug-Ins display Version 15.6.30352.237999.
This is causing confusion. How can this be fixed?
I want some items to be yellow, and others a different color. Using text edit tool in Edit PDF. Defaults to yellow.

why do i have to double tap stylus when i draw a signature? it works perfect in other applications?
must be a setting i can turn off, or to single touch and sign?
I try to download Acrobat Pro and every time it stops at 30% and says "WebGet request failed". My internet connection is working fine. I'm trying to utilize the 30 day trial but can't download on my Mac.
