Why do I get the message, "You don't have any devices that can receive content from Adobe Reader" when I try printing an Adobe image that has successfully come up on the computer screen?  I am running Windows 8 on an HP Pavillion machine (new).

My antivirus keeps telling me I have 2 trojans in the adobe X 10.1.5 MUI setup..  Does anyone else have this problem?  Is it a real virus?

The files my antivirus thinks are trojans are: PDFPrevHndlr.dll and pdfshell.dll...

Any info would be helpful..  Since these were deleted from my antivirus and then my Adobe won't run...

I use Microsoft Word 2010 with Windows 7 and IE8. Yesterday I updated my Adobe Reader to 10.1.5. I have numerous Word documents that have hyperlinks to pdf documents in them. Now when I use Word to convert these Word documents to pdf, the links in the new pdf document don't work. Instead, I'm taken to my company's home page.

Reader 10.1.0 and updates won't install OS X 10.7 Lion

Reader 10.1.2 will not install on my OS X 10.7 Lion system.  Reader 10.1.0 was running on OS X 10.6.7 and after upgrading to 10.7 I can't install any upgrades (10.1.1 or 10.1.2)  I tried removing 10.1.0 and downloading a complete version.  The installation  stalls at the "running package scripts" point, the "install time remainings increments out to 32 minutes and then I get a box showing "installation failed"  I found a suggestion on the internet that socketfilterfw could cause the problem and turning the firewall off would prevent it.  Turning the firewall off and running the installation offline did not help. I tried removing everything Adobe from user, library and system folders, again with no help.

As a work around I tried to install Reader 9.6 and it installed and works fine.  I also tried copying Reader 10.1.1 from a friends laptop running OS X 10.6.7 to my laptop and it works okay: however, when I try to install the 10.1.2 upgrade the installation fails and trying to install a full version of 10.1.2 also fails.

Can't Integrate 11.0.01 MSP into MSI Install

I created a custom install using the customization wizard, and have no trouble installing it using:

msiexec /i AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi TRANSFORMS=AdbeRdr11000_en_US.mst /qb

Now I'm trying be able to install it with the 11.0.01 patch file included using:

msiexec /i AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi PATCH=AdbeRdrUpd11001.msp TRANSFORMS=AdbeRdr11000_en_US.mst /qb

I get this error when I run that:

This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.

Or when I add the full paths to the files:

msiexec /i "C:\Users\User\Desktop\AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi" PATCH="C:\Users\User\Desktop\AdbeRdrUpd11001.msp" TRANSFORMS="C:\Users\User\Desktop\AdbeRdr11000_en_US.mst" /qb

I get:

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the progpam to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.

I'm installing it directly on a Windows 7 virtual machine. I did have Reader 9.5 installed, but I used the cleaner tool to remove it.

Thanks,

Bobby

Reader 11 very very slow

Hi

Ever since updating to Reader 11 I have found Reader CRIPPLINGLY slow. PDF's will open, then freeze, then give 'not responding' and somtimes crash. If I am lucky, when I shut everything else down, it might cooperate if I am patient.

What's going on here?!!

I am on PC, Windows XP, 2002, Professional, SP3

Nightmare as I use a lot of pdf's...

Please help!

(Advised to update so by Firefox - if I recall correctly - as not to do so apparently left me open to security issues. Or possibly not being able to view flash on YouTube. Or maybe both. Sorry - just can't remember)

10.1.5 / Flash 11.5.502.146 - can't view PDF with Flash content

We rolled out Reader 10.1.5 and Flash 11.5.502.146 [Windows 7] this week and discovered that one can not view a PDF containing Flash content.

We receive the message "To view the Flash Technology content in this PDF file, please install the required version of Flash Player".

According to the Adobe Reader Blog "As mentioned in Three Common Adobe Reader and Acrobat Security Questions, unknown Flash will now be rendered by the system Flash Player (NPAPI version), when using Adobe Reader and Acrobat 10.1.5. Note: This has already been done for Reader and Acrobat 11. As stated before, this means that Adobe Reader/Acrobat users will no longer have to update Adobe Reader/Acrobat each time we update the Flash Player."

If the latter is true, why are we seeing this message?  And, how do we resolve the problem?

When opening some of my PDFs from Reader 10.1.5, only the main menu bar displays, but no page viewer.  I can view the pages in Full Screen and in the Print Preview box, but cannot seem to get a regular viewing window.  I'm running  OS 10.7.5 on my Mac, downloaded the PDF via Firefox  18.0.1.  I can view the files in questions in the Adobe viewer directly from the browser.   I have tried to save new copies and reopen, to no avail.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Need help with template design

I am trying to design a template that is editable by my client who can then save it as a jpg.  She does not have any photo editing software.  Is there a way to create a jpg from a pdf in Reader?

A different approach/solution would be greatly appreciated also.

Thanks,

Hannah

"Reader" Actually Created a New Partition

An update failed--possibly because the last PDF I had been reading was on a Truecrypt volume. I got an error message to that effect.

I followed the instructions provided for the error message number--at which time a new partition, labeled "OS," appeared on my Windows 7, 64, disk.

I tried to remove the partition; it failed. How could the error message instructions have created a new "OS?" If it counts, the region is striped on the Windows Disk Management program. I don't know what to do.

Thank you.

Internet Explorer Script Error

$

I am trying to install the most recent version of Adobe Reader onto a Windows XP SP3 computer with Internet Explorer 8.  I am able to download just fine, but I run into a problem during the installation when I get to the part where it tries to retrieve the install.  From what I can tell, instead of downloading the actual installation file it's as if I'm downloading something that handle the download of the actual installation file (like a download manager).  Anyway, no matter where I download from and no matter whether I save first or run without saving I get the same Internet Explorer Script Error.  It looks something like this:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 1

Char: 9914

Error: Object expected

Code: 0

URL: http://127.0.0.1:4287/app/_js/adobe.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

Yes No

I have tried everything I can think of.  I don't know if some random Internet Explorer setting is interfering with the install or if it's something else.  Also, whether I hit Yes or No, nothing happens.  I have only tried downloading from the Adobe website and have not tried using third party websites.

Please help.

Thanks,

jen
