tab interface will not allow tabs to be moved or reordered

$

I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC daily and frequently have multiple documents open at the same time.  I open several docs at once and then use the tab interface to move the tabs into the order I need them in to accomplish my tasks.

During an online session with my IT department they uninstalled Reader DC reloaded it from the website.  After the re-installation the program will open the multiple windows with tabs, but I can no longer move or reorder the tabs.  It advised this might be a new version and that function was disabled.  I checked the version numbers before and after the IT session as they are the same.

Is there an setting that can be changed to allow the tabs to be reordered with multiple windows open?

Can't drag tabs

So I am currently using the free version of the reader and before yesterday I would normally open up mutliple pdfs in different windows then drag the tabs together so they were all in one window.

However yesterday I was no longer able to drag the tabs, instead when I try and do so the cursor turns into a black circle with a line through it. AFAIK nothing has changed- the pdfs are the same ones I was viewing and I am using the same reader, same computer etc.

Anyone know what's happening and how to fix it so I can view all the pdfs in one window, because having to keep using the taskbar is really annoying.

Operation/Data is too complex

I am having an issue, but it's not happening 100% of the time.  I have a PDF that's saved on a local intranet website.  Sometimes when I click on the PDF to download/open it, I get the following 2 messages, in order:

1st Message - There was an error processing a page.  Operation or data is too complex.

2nd Message - Unexpected Token Type.

I've done some searching, but I can't find any other instances of people having this exact issue.  It seems that the people who are having it, are having it 100% of the time.  I can log in, try to open the files 2-3 times, and always get that message.  Then I can log out and back in, and I can then open the file just fine.  Then I can log out and back in, and get the error message again.  Sometimes resetting my IE settings helps, sometimes it doesn't.

If I right-click and choose Save Target As, and save it to my desktop/my documents/etc, I can then open it all day long with no issues.

Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Acrobat reader keeps crashes when installed on Windows 10. In eventviewer the following appears:

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe

Problem Event Name    : BEX

Application Name          : Acrobat.exe

Application Version       : 11.0.20.17

Application Time Stamp : 58da7059

Any idea what the solution can be?

So far I tried to

     - uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Reader

     - Disable protection mode

     - Run update for Acrobat Reader

     - Tried Acrobat Reader DC instead

But no luck so far.

Hello,

I have applied for and received the enterprise license agreement. Can you please tell me how I can download the MSI version of the complete installer for the DC 2017.009.20044 version of Adobe Reader?

Thank you!

Adobe Reader DC stalls when installing.

I download Adobe Reader DC, and the download goes seamlessly, but when I try to run the download manager (the one that's called readerdc_en_ha_crd_install.exe) I get the spinning circle and it tells me that it isn't responding.

I had Adobe Reader DC before and it was working but I was getting an error message concerning DWrite.dll, which is what prompted me to uninstall it. I am now experiencing this problem when trying to re-install. Could these two issues be connected?

Either way, I need to resolve this issue so I can read PDF's!

I have Windows 7 versionb 6.1 (Build 7601:Service Pack 1)

Latest Reader DC mailto links hard to click?

The problem seems to be when a PDF is created with a non adobe product, when clicking the email address in the PDF it does nothing. However when clicking multiple times on the email address, when the whole page becomes highlighted the email address link works and it opens in outlook.

This problem seems to occur with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 17.012.20095.

If I rollback to an older version when I click on the email address once. The link opens up right away.

I tested by creating a pdf with test@example.com then I reprinted with cutepdf and nuance pdf just to simulate creating a pdf with a 3rd party product. Then I opened the pdf with adobe reader and clicked on the link. In 17.012.20095 it took me 5 tried before it opened where as the older version opened up right away.

Is anyone else having this problem and is there a fix? It's currently affecting a large group in my company.

Actually, this might be related to this problem with links Adobe Reader DC not opening hyperlinks

I was emailed three PDF files, two of these I can't access and the following message shows up:

Please wait...

If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF

viewer may not be able to display this type of document.

You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by

visiting http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/support/products/

acrreader.html.

I have downloaded the latest adobe (XI), restarted my computer, cleared my search history on chrome, tried opening the files with internet explorer, and tried getting someone from the adobe chat service to fix the problem. None of these have proved successful.

Please help I need these two files in order to commence my new job. Please don't use complicated, technological language because I won't understand.

Why does Adobe default to the McAfee AV software?

I already have System Mechanic Pro and Anonymizer (vpn). Every so often I forget to uncheck the DEFAULT to install McAfee software. I know Adobe is not the only vendor that likes to plug other vendors (and probably receive a kick-back).

I find this practice to be very ANNOYING and COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE. Does any one else feel similarly?

Find Function not Finding Existing words

Hi!  Looked through the community questions on this and couldn't seem to find an answer or anyone with the exact same problem.  If it exists then I apologize.  My find function seems to sometimes say words do not exist in a document when they do.  Not an every document problem but some documents do have this problem.  Wanted to attach a document to this post but does't seem to be possible.  Looking at other posts I think I did this correctly.  If not please let me know.  https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/36c11ef3-aeed-4158-86a4-217c605845db

Shared Files - Acrobat.com

VLP, peptide, and caspid all appear in the pdf of this patent but using find does not "find" them.

It seemed to work yesterday on other documents but now I am questioning if it did or not.  I am using Version of Reader DC 2017.012.20095.

Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

11.x Acropdf crashes 3rd party application

Please confirm whether this is accurate representation of the Adobe Active X plugin and if so, whether the hard upper limit of 20 has changed in Reader 11.x or above.

After further investigation, it appears that the apparent 20 documents limit is hard coded in adobe acrobat reader activex (at least in 8.x). The ActiveX appears to save a reference to the 20 first opened pdf documents, but not for the others.

With a tool like Spy++, you can see that an invisible top level window named "sw", using the class "static", is created each time you open a new pdf document (i think this point can be linked to Bug #240506 - the userobjects growing can be related to windows created but not destroyed).
If you open less than 20 documents, when the view is destroyed, all the created "sw" windows are destroyed, then the AcroPDF.dll is unloaded and all works fine.
If you open more than 20 documents, when then view is destroyed, only the 20 first "sw" windows are destroyed, the others remain. At some point the AcroPDF.dll is unloaded, then SWT destroys the view window, which in turn destroys child windows, which in turn tries to destroy the remaining "sw" windows.
This is where you got a crash, because Windows is trying to call a window proc located in the previously unloaded AcroPDF.dll.
