Hello,
we have a problem in our enterprise enviroment with Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.6 on Windows XP (32-bit). When trying to open a PDF file it seems that the application has crashed. Adobe Reader freezes for about 10-15 seconds and then responds again. This happens we the user tries to open PDFs on his local machine or on mapped network drives.
We have used following Registry modifications when deploying the application in our environment:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------
- MSI install: \Msidata\AcroRead.msi
- Registry mod: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\FeatureLockDown\cWelcomeScreen - bShowWelcomeScreen:0
- Registry mod: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\FeatureLockDown\CCloud - bDisableADCFileStore:1
- Registry mod: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\FeatureLockDown - bUpdater:0
- Registry mod: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\WorkFlows - bEnableAcrobatHS:0
- Registry mod: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\AdobeViewer - EULA:1
- MSI patch: \Msidata\AdbeRdrUpd1015.msp
- MSI patch: \Msidata\AdbeRdrSecUpd1016.msp
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------
What we have tried:
- delete user's application data in C:\Documents and Settings\{WindowsUser}\Local Settings\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\Cache\*
- delete user's application data in C:\Documents and Settings\{WindowsUser}\Local Settings\Adobe\*
- delete user's application data in C:\Documents and Settings\{WindowsUser}\Application Data\Adobe\*
- giving the user full access (NTFS) in the 3 folders above
- giving the user full access (NTFS) in the %PROGRAMFILES%\Adobe Reader
- removing windows user profile and creating a new one (very strange)
- full removal of Adobe Reader and reinstall doesn't help
- the problem doesn't occur when you open PDFs as a local administrator
- only a full reinstall of the computer fixes the problem (very strange)
AdobeARM.log (maybe it shows something of use):

What we cannot do:
- upgrade Adobe Reader due to a 3rd party plugin which doesn't support a newer version of Adobe Reader
I hope someone has any suggestions and can help me! Thanks in advance!
