Every time I start Adobe Reader I get a windows installer saying "Please wait while windows configures Adobe Reader XI (11.0.1)"
After 30 seconds or so it then starts up as normal. If I double click on a PDF file then it opens up quickly in Reader without this dialog.
I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling Adobe Reader repeatedly and I have been getting this problem for months, through multiple versions of reader. I'm not sure because it's been happening for so long but I don't think that it's ever worked properly on this machine. I do have other machines that work perfectly.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro (64-bit).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?
My guess would be that some setting somewhere has become corrupted and the uninstall process leaves it behind. Is there any way to completely uninstall reader, including all of its settings, registry entries, etc. so that I can try that?
