Adobe Reader XI not working

Hello

I am on Windowds 7.

I had upgraded recently to Adobe Reader X and it stopped workin normally:

- when you doeuble click on the pdf files, nothing is happening

- if you go through right click -> open with-> adobe reader X i will sometimes open documents, sometimes not.

I have tried the following:

1. Used the "Repair adobe reader installation" - all isses persisted

2. Used the "clean up" tool suggested by adobe labs and then reinstalled Adobe Reader X - to no effect.

3. I have removed Adobe Reader X and installed Adobe Reader XI. Adn the same problem still occuring! I.e. some files you need to double click a few times or go through right click-> open with or open the Adobe Reader XI and then open the file.

Just to confirm that I cna open the Adobe Reader XI just fine on it's own.
