Can anyone advise me why I keep getting a black screen when I try to open a pdf document?
I was advised by a website to update my Adobe Reader. So I went to the Adobe.com website and chose the latest free version of Adobe Reader XI. (For info I have a Mac, which has an operating system 10.6.8.) I downloaded this free package, installed it, it then said installation sucessful so I then tried to open a pdf document.
However, a pop up box advised me that 'Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser.' and took me to a black screen where the pdf document should be. I've noticed it only shows the 'installer package' in my Finder window.
Any ideas? I've just been on the phone to Apple Care and they advised me to contact Adobe. I used to be able to look at pdfs and now I can't!
