Reader 11.0.1 - Double Sided Printing with Network Printer doesn't work

I have a Canon i9950 printer.   It is NOT a duplex printer.

If this prnter is connected direct to a Windows 7 PC on my home network, and the printer is shared with other PCs (all WIN 7), when I print a PDF file and on the print options page I select "Print on both sides of paper" AR prints correctly.   It first prints the odd numbered pages, then a window pops up telling my to turn the printed pages over and insert back into the printer supply tray.   All is good with this.

However, I recently purchased a new ADSL modem/router (a BILLION 7800VDPX) that has a USB printer port, enabling a printer to be connected direct to the router, rather than to one of the network PCs.

The advantage of this connection method is that it is not reliant on one particular PC be turned on for any other PC to be able to print.

When I have the printer connected to the router, the Adobe Reader option of "Print on both sides of paper" CAN be selected, but it does not work.   All pages are printed in order, on one side only.

Setting the printer properties to DUPLEX (even though it is not a duplex printer) does not fix this issue.

Is this a bug in Adobe Reader?
