Using "back" and "forward" mouse buttons

Hello,

In order to move backward and forward to previously-visited points in a PDF document I can click on the backward and forward arrows on the PFD toolbar and it works perfectly.  However, the corresponding side buttons on my mouse have no effect even though they work perfectly on every other application I have that supports backward and forward navigation.  I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 on a Windows 7 64-bit system.
