I work in a tax office and am trying to download and use certain tax forms which are offered on the tax agencies' web sites as PDF files.
I logged on and downloaded several of these on a shared PC that is connected to the Internet, then saved them to my memory stick and took them to my own, non-networked PC.
Result: Any attempt to open and view the contents of the PDFs fails, behaving as though I'm trying to open a network application. So apparently these so-called files are only shortcuts to some location out on the Web and do not really contain the data they are supposed to (and promise to) contain.
How do I make Acrobat Reader download and save the complete, actual data, so that I can use it on my non-network-connected PC?
If you tell me that it's not allowed, I will have to seek some solution that involves not using PDFs at all.
