Why don't my margins print correctly?

I have created a booklet-form document in Word, and then converted it to PDF.  All margins are good in Word, and they appear to be correct when I view it in Acrobat.  BUT, when I print it, the margins are all off.  I've tried "printing as image" - that didn't work.  I've tried printing at "actual size"  instead of fit to page, but that didn't work either.
