I'm a system admin at my office, and I've been trying to find a way for non admins to stop getting the "time to update" popup because I deply updates through WSUS and they just get either confused or annoyed when they see the popup. That's a separate issue, but I'm mentioning it because I think in the process, I've disabled or deleted something the installer/uninstaller is looking for. Now, when I try to uninstall, I'm getting this: "error 1922.Service Adobe Acrobat Update Service (AdobeARMservice) could not be deleted. Verify that you have sufficent privileges to remove system services."
As I said, I'm an admin, and for that matter, THE admin on my machine. I've also been unable to apply the latest patch - 11.0.01.36- that I pushed from the WSUS server (we're also using solarwinds patch manager). Attempting to install that throws a code 643 windows update error which, of course, is "unknown".
I think I'd like to be able to uninstall reader so I can re-install it fresh from scratch and honestly, any time I'm unable to uninstall or update 3rd party software, I'm uneasy. I do see that the service is running, but it doesn't show up in the services snap-in.
