I had a problem for a week with not being able to open/read PDF files. I tried a few remedies that were suggested on the Adobe forum, but none of them worked. Yesterday, there appeared to be a legitimate remedy, TDSKiller fix for a possible rootkit problem, stated by someone representing the "Adobe Team" based upon input they had received from numerous users also encountering this problem. This remedy launched the virus, took out my operating system. Fortunately, I have the operating system disks, and I had installed Sea Gate several months ago in order to continuously back up all of my files. After 8 1/2 hours plus, I was back in business. Some of you may not be so "fortunate". I am also posting this so that Adobe is aware of this problem. It's too bad that Adobe offers a "free" reader, but makes you pay in order to get assistance. I definitely "paid"!
