This message has been observed a few times over the years, but in the recent days it has been posted dozens of times. So far I haven't seen any cause, nor a solution to this.
What happened? A few of the posters stated that this has started some 9 days ago. There was no Windows update at the time, nor an Adobe Reader update. Interestingly, even reverting to older Reader versions did not solve the problem.
One poster wrote that copying all Reader DLL files to the root folder (C:\) has worked as a circumvention. He later wrote that this specific case was caused by a root kit.
Could it be that some anti-virus software is causing this? I hope that some users experiencing this problem would post their anti-virus software & version here in this topic.
Any ideas from forum regulars or Adobe staff?
Is Adobe looking into this?
