Adobe Reader Not Starting

I just upgraded to Adobe Reader XI and Internet explorer 10.  After doing both Reader Did not work at first then rightmouse clicked and "Trouble Shoot compatibility"  It wanted to turn on Windows XP compatibility.  That workded and it Worked for 2 weeks.  Now when I try to view a file it acts like it is trying to ope for about 10 seconds and then nothing no error just nothing.  When I try to open Adobe Reader the same thing happens hour glass for 15 seconds then nothing.  Same for "Trouble shoot compatibility mode.  Read on the web site and check permission in internet explorer.  OK still no go.  Tried opening Reader as administrator (which I am anyway)  No go.  Tried opening a PDF with Internet explorer No go  just a blank internet screen no file.  I do get a preview of the pdf in windows explorer 

 

What I have tried

uninstalling and reinstalling version XI

uninstalling and reinstalling version X

uninstalling and reinstalling version 9.5

using the Adobe uninstall utility on the website and reinstalling version XI

 

 

I am not sure what I can try next

 

HELP?  there must be an easy solution out there somewhere
