I decided to allow Acrobat Reader to update itself, because I was in the mood. My mood quickly turned sour when the updater wanted to reboot my entire machine, shut down my dozens of active apps and suspend my work. Really?
Adobe is overly optimistic that users are willing to reboot their machines over something as dull as a PDF reader. I rarely use it, and why for the life of me it requires 3 updates per week and 3 reboots per week just to view simple text documents is beyond me. (slight exaguration)
In todays age most programs don't require a machine reboot. If a simple program like Acrobat Reader requires a reboot then there's something seriously wrong with that application.
I'm sure Adobe knows of this, but after using Acrobat Reader for years I decided enough is enough. Catch up with the time already!
