Just updated Acrobat Reader for my Firefox browser so I could print out a waiver for the Disney marathon tomorrow. Reader updated, waiver printed off - and McAfee Security Scan wants to start. Which is odd, because I don't use McAfee's product. Yep, Adobe, you got me. You managed to slip one in on me.
My observation: you're clearly an unethical company. It's not a question. If you wanted to give us the opportunity to try out a new product, you'd direct attention toward, not away, from the option to install software, and you'd make it opt-in, not opt out. The motivation here is obvious - you're paid by McAfee for each install you can generate, and if that means the user is stuck with unwanted software or the trouble of removing it, tough, right?
Up until this point, I had a neutral attitude toward Adobe. From this point forward, I recognize that there is no sense of responsibility to the consumer, and you can be certain I'll avoid Adobe products and recommend to my students that they avoid Adobe products, as the company will attempt to inject unwanted software onto user devices. Hope the nickel or whatever you got from McAfee was worth it.
