I had Adobe 9.5.4 and did the auto update to Adobe 11. I would get a 193 error after installation was almost complete ....SO I uninstalled Adobe 9.5.4 I went to Adobe download page and downloaded the installer. Ran the installer from the download folder it seemed to download fine and installation bar showed it being installed and the finish button came up...HOWEVER....Windows XP does not know what the pdf files are. I tried file association but there is NO adobe installed. I looked in the program files and the adobe folder there is empty.
I tried to install again and everything seemed to go fine but again Adobe is not installed however the adobe web page says Adobe reader was sucessfully installed after I run the installation.
Very weird...........
I am using the latest Firefox browser.
I am the admin of XP.
I have service pack 3 installed.
Java is enabled in firefox.
Not sure what is the problem here.
