I recently updated to Reader XI and now my file previewer is not working in Outlook 2007 or windows explorer. I have Windows 7 64 bit. The file previewer has always worked until the new update. I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro and don't really know why I have to have Reader but it seems that many websites & some computer functions require you to have Reader.
I just read on Adobe's website that they don't recommend having two different versions of Reader & Acrobat. Now that I've updated Reader I have Reader XI and Acrobat X. I really don't know if this is the problem but thought it was worth mentioning. Also, tried to find Reader X to install but it doesn't seem to be available any longer.
I've also explored Outlook's disabled add-on's and settings in the trust center but can't seem to make it work. Outlook still allows me to preview excel files so I'm pretty confident it has something to do with Adobe.
I tried to get support from Adobe but they said that since I have Acrobat X they won't offer me support anymore.
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.
